I can see why swans were adopted as a royal bird; there's definately something regal about them. There's also something of the "off with his head" kind of bad-ass-ed-ness that comes with knowing that you're more powerful than the next creature.

Is it the monumental(!) effort that went into constructing something like this in primitive times, or is it something about us clinging on to a world of magic through these ancient links?

Is it just because it looks like a pointy-headed man?

Originally uploaded by ozzzie. New York was a fantastic place to visit, especially aided by a Big Apple Greeter as I mention on my site.

I'm not normally one for city life, but if you're visiting and don't have to live there day after day, it's a gas.

I was in a bit of a Dali-esque mood when I tweaked this photo.

Originally uploaded by ozzzie. Donington Park 2005 was a fantastically exciting event. OK, it chucked it down with rain on the Sunday, but that made for some exicitng highside saves and some equally exciting backside excursions.

You've probably heard all the superlatives about Valentino Rossi, but what the hell, he's good! It was unbelievable the way he took apart a field of seasoned competitors in a couple of laps. Scrap 'The Doctor', he should be called 'The Surgeon'.

The sound of a Moto GP bike is tuneful (in a petrolhead kind of way) and LOUD (apart from Rossi's muted Yamaha tone).
